BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis

This Diploma is an international, industry-recognised certification that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and capabilities to be an effective business analyst.

Who is this aimed at?

Business and IT professionals who want to demonstrate they have a detailed understanding of business analysis best practice.

What are the entry requirements?

To proceed to the Diploma in Business Analysis you will need to have passed four modules:

  • Practitioner Certificates in Business Analysis Practice 
  • Practitioner Certificate in Requirements Engineering
  • One knowledge-based specialism
  • One practitioner specialism

Please note that you will be examined on the latest version of the syllabus during the written and oral examination so you must ensure you are fully conversant with the latest version of the syllabus.

What format is the exam?

  • Up to 50 minutes oral examination
  • Conducted by two examiners
  • Discussion of experience
  • Questions on topics from the syllabus, including the selected specialist modules

Are there any exemptions?

  • IIBA exemption:
    The Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) qualifications are exempt from the Requirements Engineering module and the Knowledge-based specialist module IIBA & BCS Professional Certifications (PDF)
  • Organisational Context exemption:
    As Commercial Awareness replaced the former Organisational Context module, candidates who hold this can still use it to contribute to the attainment of the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis (subject to meeting the needs of the current published scheme) and will not be required to pass the new module.
  • IREB exemption:
    Candidates who have completed IREB’s Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) Foundation level will be exempt from taking the BCS Certificate in Requirements Engineering.

Fee: £300 (ex VAT)
Register: Online - you must also complete, sign and return this registration form when booking this exam (if we don’t receive it you will be unable to sit the exam).

Exam fees for public sittings must be paid a minimum of four weeks prior to the exam date by Visa, Access or MasterCard.
