Foundation Certificate

Structured around Business Finance and Organisational Behaviour, this certificate looks at the commercial and organisational knowledge required for business analysis work.

Who is this aimed at?

Anyone who wants to understand of the structure, operation and behaviour of organisations. It’s particularly relevant to those in a business change role such as business analysts, programme or project managers, solution architects and service managers.

What are the entry requirements?

None. Training with a BCS accredited training provider is recommended.

Note: This certificate has replaced our 'Organisational Context' module. If you hold this module you can use it to contribute to the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis (subject to meeting the needs of the current published scheme).

What format is the exam?

  • One hour ‘closed book’
  • 40 multiple choice questions
  • Pass mark is 65% (26/40)

Simple non-programmable calculators can be used during paper based examinations (to be provided by the candidate). Candidates taking online examinations will have access to an on-screen calculator or will be provided one by the centre. No other calculators or mobile technology will be allowed.
